Start-Ups

The year was 2005. My good friend and creative director, Bob Liljenwall, encouraged me to start a personal newsletter. He felt that I should share the stories of my travels, insights into the business world, my clients, life’s experiences, my life in Hawaii, and the culture and spirit of ‘Aloha.’

We called it, ‘The EDDY Line,’ and e-mailed it to over 1000 colleagues and friends across the country. Well, it grew and kept on growing. A few years later I was encouraged by family and friends to start writing a book. “A book,” I said. That’s an interesting suggestion, but I had no idea of how to write a book.

Spring 2010 was the beginning of a challenging, yet, rewarding adventure. Carol Nicholson, a dear friend, was writing her first book and wanted to introduce me to Sarah Williams, her writing coach, who lived inn Oxford, England. Sarah and I connected immediately, and that was the beginning of learning the process and discipline of writing.

It was 3 years of time-consuming research, gathering and editing photos, documents of family history, personal interviews with several of my family members, and drawing upon my memories.

“Loves, Life & Laughter,” the highly enjoyable journey of Bill ‘Aloha’ Eddy was self-published in June 2013, and is a loosely structured autobiography of an American boy (me) and his journey through life. And my life continues.

I’m still writing ‘The EDDY Line,’ about fascinating people and places, and my new passion – the world of surfing, surf culture, documentary films, and the legendary surfers and shapers that gave birth to a lifestyle and an international industry.

As we said, we’re curious and never stop learning. What’s next?

We love to share stories and provide motivation and support for young people of all ages, and clearly emphasize,“Attitude is everything in Life.”

Our stories are about dealing with adversity in life and ways to overcome them. Many times our stories are about the hardships and disappointments that we’ve faced and the steps that we took to overcome them.

We know that in life, ‘It’s OK to fail, it’s almost inevitable, just don’t ever quit.’ We learn from failure and hopefully, become stronger and that strength will enable us to take new paths that lead to new opportunities.

So many young people have yet to find their passion or direction in life, so we encourage them by saying, “It’s OK if you haven’t found your passion yet, but you will, so be curious and keep learning because your curiosity will lead you there.

And remember, ‘Believe in yourself.’ You’re worth it.

We have a passion for introducing unique retail and restaurant concepts with a compelling product that creates customer engagement, and a memorable experience. It is a formula for success in today’s sophisticated and highly competitive market place.

Start-ups, pop-ups, or incubator retail concepts must have a clear goal assessment and understanding of the customer they want to attract. Finding the right location for your store is imperative. Develop and write a sound business plan, produce ideas for store and graphics design, merchandising, and marketing plans. In other words, due diligence.

We’ll provide creative ideas and marketing strategies to create awareness of your brand, how to engage with your shoppers, and evaluate revenue. Today, shoppers want a sensory experience where they can touch, hold, or sample your products, and come back for more, and hopefully, become your brand advocates.

We’ll discuss the opportunities, the costs, and complexities, and help you navigate the process.

Business Strategy

Brand Ambassador

Retail Innovations

‘Focus’ is the key to productivity. For executing your ‘Business Strategy’ - Achieving your company’s vision – Prioritizing your objectives – Competing successfully, and Optimizing your financial performance. They reflect your firm’s Strength – Vulnerabilities – Resources, and Opportunities. For years, my dad would tell me, “Do first things first.” It took me a while before I truly understood the importance of that simple statement that applies to your business and also applies to you personally. We’ll help you ‘Prioritize,’ and show you how to “Focus” to execute your ‘Business Strategy.’

Brands resonate with us on a personal level. Your brand should be authentic and tell a story that reflects your core values, passions, strengths, and provide an emotional connection to people.

Brand awareness – Let people know who you are and who you aren’t. We’ll focus on your strengths, the quality of your work and reputation. Creating, sharing, and responding to online reviews. We will participate in trade shows and events, as needed, to showcase your brand.

We’ll listen, advise, and work with you to prepare an effective marketing campaign, and promote your product and services via social media and forums.

– Customer Experience –

‘It’s all about change.’ Change that provides tangible value to the consumer by adding new products, services, social and digital technology.

Digital-Native brands are changing by opening physical stores and using technology and data-driven customer experience insights. Examples include: interactive products, product customizing, and (AR) Augmented Realty. They all add value to the marketplace and enhance the customer experience.

We live in a visual world, and our passion for retail, new retail concepts, new brands, and new shopping experiences that engage customers enhance our ability to provide the highest level of guidance to our clients.

CLIENTS

No matter who the client is, our work has one aspect in common: We are ‘results-driven.’ We set realistic goals for each client assignment, and pride ourselves on our results-oriented track record where due diligence and execution are key. Historically, we work with clients over a long period of time, and develop trusting relationships.
