The Hamlet restuarants (previously branded Hamburger Hamlet) is a legend in upscale casual dining, having been the pioneer in this segment since its founding in 1950 by Marilyn and Harry Lewis in Los Angeles. Under the dynamic new leadership of Andrew Tavakoli, the Hamlets are being re-invigorated to bring this icon back to its pre-eminence in casual dining. The decorator touches blend elegance and casual comfort (leather booths, rich walnut paneling, elegant chandeliers and sconces). The collection of nouveau art and Shakespearean handbills that grace the walls is one of the most expensive collections of its type in the country.
